Symposium Celebration

The 22nd Annual Carder Steuben Glass Association Symposium wrapped up this past weekend, and what a wonderful treat it was! We had attendees from fourteen states who all enjoyed a delightful program of presentations, museum visits, friendship, and LOTS of beautiful glass.  The program kicked off on Thursday with a field trip to the Paul V. Gardner Glass Center at Alfred University where we met with several members of their Glass Research groups and were delighted by their extensive holdings of Carder-era Steuben materials. We finished up the weekend with a banquet at the Corning Musuem of Glass and an auction where we raised over $7000 for the CSGA.

We’d like to extend a big thank you to all of our presenters for sharing their knowledge with us, to the Corning Museum of Glass for hosting the event, and to the generous donors of many fabulous pieces for the fundraising auction. We’d also like to make special shout-out to Symposium Chair Bonnie Salzman for all of her work to put together a fantastic event.

If you were unable to attend this time, we hope to see you next year.  Mark your calendars — the 23rd Annual Carder Steuben Glass Association Symposium will take place Sept. 12-14, 2024.

We’ll share highlights from the Symposium in future editions of the Gazelle Gazette. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy some photos from the event.
