Another Membership Renewal Reason

How about the website itself (www.cardersteubenclub.org)? It’s probably the best reason to renew your membership or join the Club. Last month the Club website had almost 1,400 site visits with more than 15,000 page views. The database currently consists of 5,838 line drawings and 6,387 photographs. The Club has invested thousands of dollars in its development and refinement and is constantly improving it and expanding the database. Book Recommendations

I had to do an appraisal of a piece of Tiffany Favrile for an appraisal class. I collected and reviewed numerous volumes on Tiffany glass of the era as part of my project. While Louis Comfort Tiffany: The Collected Works of Robert Koch was comprehensive and helpful in putting Tiffany glass into the greater perspective of the era, the very best book, in my estimation, is a more recent volume. Tiffany Favrile and the Quest for Beauty by Martin Eidelberg actually focuses on the art glass which is more comparable to Steuben. It discusses in detail the various types of glass that Tiffany produced during the period and has marvelous pictures. The book was produced by Lillian Nausau LLC in New York. Lillian Nausau was the gallery that led the rebirth of Tiffany art glass in the 1950s. Two years ago when I was working on this project, the book was only available from the Lillian Nausau Gallery in New York.

Display Cases

We’ve been asked–
I need new display cases for my collection. The showcases (like the ones used in shops or by dealers at shows) are too wide and too heavy for residential use. I would like to find something that is no wider than 36 inches and weighs less than 200 pounds. Can anyone recommend a source? Thank you.
