Issue 3767
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of David Ellett’s passing on Sunday morning.
David was actively participating in and enjoying the Steuben Symposium this past weekend. He remarked that the symposium was “great,” and that “it always runs like a clock.” Of a presentation he attended, he added, “I couldn’t hear everything Dick Weerts said, but I loved his pictures!”
A fellow member reflected today that while we don’t get to choose the moment, “how wonderful it must be to be at the Steuben Symposium, in the lobby of the Corning Museum of Glass, surrounded by fellow members and friends, enjoying something you love.”
We will share David’s obituary when it becomes available. If you have stories or memories of your friendship with David, please feel free to share and we will publish them in a future Gazette. In the meantime, please consider raising a glass to David — as he did in Corning during Thursday’s Frederick Carder birthday dinner.
