The Board of the Carder Steuben Club have been discussing next year’s Symposium and trying to think outside the box about programming and the structure of the event. Director, Al Bradtke asks:

Perhaps we could get some ideas from members in the club who belong to other collector clubs – what do they do? how long is their meeting? how often do they meet? Perhaps Alan could query the Gazette readers to find out who belongs to other collector clubs and get them to share their information through the Gazette.

When we discussed where the excess Steuben inventory would be finally distributed Scott Hansen points out there still is a Filene’s Basement.

There are about 25 Filene’s Basement stores open in the country (see the list at www.filenesbasement.com) and according to a salesperson at the Madison Avenue Steuben store that store will remain open until just before Christmas. As they say in the newspaper business, if your mother says she loves you, check it out.

Dick Stark of Potomac, Maryland gives his opinion on disposing of this inventory.

should be sold on line…..less rent and labor… kind of sad
