Issue 1885

David Whitehouse, the former Executive Director of the Corning Museum of Glass was a great friend to the Carder Steuben Club. In the opposite column see the interesting story about a Rakow Library acquisition in David’s honor.

This is an interesting piece. It is shape 7472 and is shown as a vase in Gardner. It is actually a candlestick and was made to accept a “U” shaped candle. It was available in colorless glass either plain or engraved in either Renwick or Marguerite. It was also made with red and blue bands around the top.
