This week it’s the Miami Beach Antique Show. Going to try something new. Sharing pictures of
Carder Steuben seen at the show, which is going on now through Monday. However, rather than
sending all this data to you by e-mail, which causes a few of you problem because the size of the file I am uploading the pictures to a web host. By clicking on the following link and then when you get there clicking On “Your Photos” you should be able to see the pictures. Let’s try it and see how this works

In this month’s issue of The Glass Club Bulletin of The National American Glass Club (Automn 2006) the article presented by Ed Bush at our last Symposium on William Levitt’s Poem about Frederick Carder and Joseph Bournique is reproduced. This was sent to you in an earlier Gazelle Gazette. I like the following quote that Ed took from his research: “The creations of Frederick Carder constitute a precious art museum in themselves and, as a whole, have never been equaled by the products of any other single individual for their variety, attractiveness, originality, and intrinsic value.”
We announced that this Fall’s Symposium of Shared Desires: a Unity of Glass & Metal will be
held Sept. 13-15. With that focus in mind it is now interesting to see the surprising number of times Carder’s works show up at shows that meet this criteria. Of course, we see it with deVilbiss and a variety of lamps that are familiar to us. However, several items at the Miami Beach show include the combined glass of Carder and metal works of Bach, Roycroft and probably others, including silver from Black, Starr & Frost.
