From John Styler on the color in his acb
My thanks for the reply from Greg Merkel and his great advice.
I did as you suggested and it is French Blue on Alabaster. The piece is even more striking with the light inside of it. Thanks again, John
Beth Shaut adds to the airlines and glass
Hi Alan: As to the Xray, no it will not hurt the piece at all and as I took a piece of Blue Aurene Flower block with me once, security required me to open the package as it appeared as a large black block. When I returned I put it in my bag so you could see the openings and had no problems. If you pack it so the shape can be seen they may not have you open it, but perfectly safe to carry.

Incidentally, I just traveled last night with a small piece of glass from Evansville, Indiana. (typically these smaller airports with less traffic seem to be the toughest) Went right through security with nary a peep. TSA seems to be getting more practical about the whole process.

Finally, Rande Bly sent along pictures on glass shards and says
Here is the shard of Light Blue Jade Bowl with original paper label. It is not cased in any way and has no Flint White center.
