The Cameo Vase to the Right

Dick Stark asked the question of who the other great engraver is besides Max Ehrlacher, following seeing a cameo vase at the exhibit attributed to Max at the Morris Museum.

David Goldstein of Naples, FL answers the question. “The contemporary engraver whose work Leo Kaplan carried was the late Barry Sautner. Barry did some amazing eclectic carving. Sadly, CMOG has none of his work.”

But then Dick Stark of Potomac, MD raised this question. “If that vase was in fact made by Erlacher as I believe that may be incorrect, the other artist to whom i was referring is Barry Sautner who passed. The Morris exhibit cameo vase resembles his work, some of which was done by blanks produced at the Thos. Webb factory.”

Hmmm. Thoughts?
