We’re going to end this discussion with the following revision and addition to the description of the red Medieval vase from Skinner’s website showing the piece may have been a French creation.

It is of our opinion that this may be a French copy of Steubens Medieval Pattern.

So there you are. Lots of confusion. Many may be asking what does this all mean. Looks like the Steuben pattern, but perhaps there are many knockoffs. Sinclaire, French? Who knows. What we do know is it is important to carefully examine every piece of glass. Not only for pattern, but for shape and the quality of the construction. It’s art. Most often it will be distinctive and usually easily identified when it is Carder’s work. However, just like fine art, on occasion there are imitations.
