Goblet collector, Ed Bush of Painted Post, New York questions the shape number identification of the Intarsia goblet sold at Early’s.

Alan,
Any goblet worth $24,000 should at least be identified correctly. The Intarsia goblet is #5154, not #7160. Perhaps Early’s got the number from page 136 of Dimitroff’s book where it is also misidentified.

Oh, my gosh! This may be a hard one to get the “experts” to sort out. Like a football instant replay. We’ll wait and see what the referees rule. However, no debate that this is a rare piece of Intarsia.

Incidentally, if you go search for the www.Cardersteubenclub.org club website, note that now the ending letters are .org
