Issue 2028
Dear Alan,
We believe that Frederick Carder, like other great glassmakers, created his finest and most elegant designs with his perfume and cologne bottles. Women anoint themselves with perfume to enhance their beauty. Quite naturally, while at their toilette in the boudoir, they reach for the luxurious vessel containing their favorite fragrance.
Our esteemed Vice President, Bonnie Salzman, “gets it.” —She finds the very best of the very best, collecting not only Steuben, but Steuben perfume and cologne bottles especially. Feast your eyes on her incredible Steuben shape 6450 Crown perfume bottle! Of all the Carder perfume bottles in this world we would love to have, this one would be our “crowning” wish. Sadly, Bonnie owns the only one that WE know to exist. Since we can’t have it, we’re happy that it has found its home with Bonnie.

CARDER STEUBEN 2014 SYMPOSIUM GLASS SHOW
This year the Carder Steuben Club’s Annual Symposium will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 19 & 20. However, because the Carder Birthday Dinner will take place on Thursday, the Glass Show which is part of the Symposium will be held on Friday evening.
The show will open to Club members at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 19 in the Carder Room at the Radisson Hotel. A buffet dinner will be offered during the show so that our attendees will have more time and room to socialize. Most of the exhibitors at the show are members/dealers, but we may also have one or two members who may be selling items from their personal collections.
Pieces offered for sale will range from true Carder rarities to more standard Carder and Post-Carder pieces. Other types of glass may also be available.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the Symposium and the Show. If you would like information about participating in the Show, please email me at elvidant@aol.com.
David Goldstein,
Past President
