“Winter is Not Far Behind”, 1960
Oil on Gesso Board with Molded Gilt Wood Frame
See attached jpg for the image.
This painting was completed when Frederick Carder was 97 years old. It is said that when Mr. Carder decided to retire, one of his projects was to establish a home studio. While cleaning the proposed area he came upon his forgotten artist tools and immediately returned to painting landscapes. Many visitors would leave his home with a surprise gift of the painting of their choice.
