Tommy Dreiling of Brooklyn reports and asks a question.

I was just looking through the Carder Steuben collection at The Wichita Art Museum and saw something that really startled me. It’s a John Dreves scroll olive dish in BLUE glass not crystal. I know that right after the change over some color glass was still being made, mostly Iverene I think, but I’ve never seen or heard of a piece of post Carder glass this late, 1939, being in anything but crystal, especially such an iconic piece as the scroll olive dish. Does anyone know the back story to this piece?
