Hi Alan,
I’m Jillian at DragonSearch and we manage Steuben’s (http://steuben.com) social presence online.
First, can I just butter you up a little by saying we were fortunate in April to have the coverage from the Star Gazette on Steuben’s debut of colored crystal pieces. And second, you posted the link to that in your Gazelle Gazette – thank you for that. Your site provides in-depth and ever-relevant information that helps new collectors and history mavens identify quality crystal and the lasting design influences of Frederick Carder.
As you know, Steuben phased colored glass out of its product offerings in the 1930s and is now introducing a new colored crystal collection called Luminescence. So far, Steuben’s only put out three colors (sunset, indigo and smoke), saving the last two colors for debut in the fall. Even more historic, Steuben’s new colored crystal glass art pieces will be on permanent display at the Corning Museum of Art – a special donation from Steuben to the museum.
I’m attaching the press release with full background and photos of this turning point in Steuben’s history, and we hope you’ll find it exciting enough to bring to your readers as a full blog post.
Again, thanks for your time, and best regards,
Jillian Jackson
