What’s Happening At CMoG During the Symposium

Jun 17, 2010
Issue 887

In the Symposium evaluations following the 2009 Symposium there were a significant number of comments that the Symposium programming so completely filled the schedule that there wasn’t sufficient time to tour the Museum. In response to these comments, the schedule has been adjusted in 2010 to allow additional time to see all that the Museum has to offer. In addition to the Museum’s permanent collections, the following exhibitions will be on display during the Symposium (September 23 to September 25):

1. Medieval Glass for Popes, Princes, and Peasants

2. Voices of Contemporary Glass – The Heineman Collection

3. Tiffany Treasures

4, Drawings for American Stained Glass

5. Masters of Studio Glass – Jiri Harcuba

Additional information can be found at www.cmog.org.

Of special note are the Drawings for American Stained Glass which are displayed in the Rakow Library. An ideal time to view these drawings, see the library and meet the librarians is Thursday afternoon, September 23 during the library “open house.” Also remember that from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday we will be helping the librarians work with the original Frederick Carder Archives during our Volunteer Work Session. This is a great opportunity to spend some time with original Frederick Carder correspondence, drawings and records and help organize and preserve these important materials.
