What does the $35 membership in the Carder Steuben Club do?

For those familiar with the Corning Museum of Glass (CMoG) you know that while CMoG maintains a stunning Frederick Carder exhbit in its Crystal City gallery, as well as other locations at the museum , the most amazing exhibtion of Frederick Carder’s work lies across the parking lot from the museum in the Frederick Carder Gallery that houses 3,000 works that Frederick Carder designed. The problem is that many visitors don’t make it to the Frederick Carder Gallery because they don’t know about this gallery across the parking lot, nor explore across the parking lot. For this reason the Carder Steuben Club encouraged CMoG to design and prepare a pick up piece telling visitors to cross the parking lot. With funds from our Club tens of thousands were printed and have been disseminated at the rate of 10,000 per year. Now, several years later a reprinting is called for as the stock of these handouts has been depleted. At a recent board meeting of the Club we authorized payment for another round of these brochures. See a copy below. So, part of the $35 membership fee supports this most worthy venture.
