Have you wondered what the process is to identify the glass on the www.Cardersteubenclub.org website? Vivienne Richards, a director of the Club sends this background along.
The Website Vetting Process
Have you ever wondered how these photos get on this website?
Club members, and occasionally other members of the public, submit photos of their glass items to the Webmaster. You can do this too – see our list of Website contributors. http://www.cardersteubenclub.org/aboutus/about-view.cfm?category=Contributors
It is solely due to the interest and efforts of contributors that the Club is able to maintain and expand this valuable resource and depository of Carder Steuben glass information.
Photos of glass items offered for inclusion in the Carder Steuben Website line drawing index are vetted prior to uploading to the Website. The Website Vetting Committee has a written procedure for doing this work, and the procedure itself is constantly open to revision and amendment. http://www.cardersteubenclub.org/aboutus/about-view.cfm?category=Vetting
The Website Vetting Committee consists of the Club’s elected President, the elected Board members, and any invited expertise that members believe would assist in the vetting process. Currently, Tom Dimitroff and Bobby Rockwell Jr. have been invited to assist in the vetting process.
Please be aware that you must own the rights to photos submitted for inclusion on the Website. If you have taken the photo yourself and own the glass item, then there should be no problem. If this is not the case, please notify the Webmaster if you still want to submit the photo.
If you wish to comment on any of the photos currently on the website, please feel free to do so by contacting the Webmaster. Any questions regarding authenticity or description of website items are taken very seriously, and will be subject to the same vetting procedure as incoming photos.
