Uranium

Issue 3116

Hi Alan,

We recently acquired this 938 vase engraved with the 10001 décor in what we thought was Green Jade over Alabaster. All of our other Green Jade pieces react for uranium under uv lighting. This does not. We are curious if this may be some other green that we were not able to find (Opaque Green?) or if there is a reason someone knows of that Green Jade would not react when cased over Alabaster. It would seem that there would be fluorescence.

Also, this is the first we have seen the diamond punty mark. Was there a reason outside of it breaking away easier that this was used on this vase?

The vase is 9-1/4″ tall and unmarked. The foot was also decorated.

Best Regards,

David Kingsley
