SYMPOSIUM UPDATE

The second mailing of Symposium materials to all members of the Club occurred today (Friday, August 12). This packet is the same as the first, except that it contains the notice of the annual meeting of the club. If you haven’t already done so, now is the time to send in your Symposium registration. We’ve received registrations equal to about half of last year’s attendance (a record) so we are off to a good start. The blocks of discounted hotel rooms are filling and we already have more than 20 items committed to the glass auction.

On Friday afternoon of the Symposium, Robert Nachman, Vice President – Product Design and Marketing, at Steuben Glass will give a presentation on “The Return of Color to Steuben.” Earlier this year, Steuben Glass introduced color in their glass for the first time since the Carder era. The first three colors revealed were Indigo, Smoke and Sunset. Since then, two additional colors have been introduced – Honey and Earth. All five colors can be viewed at www.steuben.com by clicking the Collections link and choosing Luminescence.

September 1 – Discounted room rates end at the Comfort Inn

September 2 – Early registration discount for the Symposium ends.

September 15 – 17 – Symposium (just a month away!)
