Clarification

Dear Alan,

Clarification of Scott Hansen’s mentioning of Waher book saying that Hawkes supplied the glass formula to Steuben or Tiffin would be incorrect. The reason for Carder coming here was that Hawkes didn’t know how to make glass only knowing how to cut & engrave it. Hawkes started purchasing from the European companies later in its history of the company because of cost of glass at that time.
