Lisa Ackerman sends this along about the glass museum in Redlands.
Good Morning, Alan, and Happy Groundhog Day!
Our little Redlands glass museum is indeed a gem. Only open on the weekends, but worth a visit if you are in So. California. Especially for our eastern friends—on Saturday it is forecast to be 76 degrees. 🙂 Lisa
Speaking of the museum, they inherited a nice collection of Steuben. Since our posting their newsletter Leigh Demrow and Marshall Ketchum have been helping them with identifying some of the glass. This is turning out to be a great collaborative effort with the Redlands Museum.
Finally, Beth Shaut of the Carder Steuben Glass Shop in Corning sends this along about the Edison Plaque.
Alan, This is also the only plaque made by Carder that there is an exact quanity made. They ordered 300 to be given. You will find that the plaque original base is not always found with them. My opinion is that when it burnt out it was trown out or also as it was handed down the 2 pieces may have been seperated along the way. It is more valuable with it original base. Beth
