MASTER ENGRAVER MAX EHRLACHER
I stumbled across a very interesting CMOG site today. Interviews with past Steuben employees and found the one with Max very interesting. It seems the Crusader bowl had a crack and he divulged the secret of how they fixed it.

U.S. GLASS FOLLOW UP
Alan,
What an interesting article on the possibilities of Fenton’s assets being used to produce glass again. Thank you!
Thank you for including this info on Mr. Bem. Maybe it isn’t, but perhaps what they need is someone who has a good business head to turn the glass industry upside down and make it competitive with Europe, China and other countries.
I see this with Mosser Glass, that they seem to be moving more towards functional pieces rather than ornamental. Perhaps this is the way to capture today’s ‘non-collecting’ generation.
I sure appreciate you taking the time to use your ‘powers of Linkedin’ to flesh out a profile. Thank you!

Cluthra Bubbles
We have had a multitude of Cluthra pieces come through the shop in the 20+ years I’ve been involved and the bubbles can be few and small to large and a multitude. The amount of bubbles in any given piece depended on how much of the chemicals were picked up on the gather with the powder and crushed glass that caused the color and effect. Right now in the shop we have some with many bubbles and some with few bubbles and bubbles ranging from very small 1/16th” to 1/2″. This piece is a great example of the variance in any given piece.
