THE GROVERS

Surprisingly, only one reply to those who remember and had experience with Ray & Lee Grover. David and Elissa Goldstein of Naples, Florida respond.
We knew both Ray and Lee Grover as dealers but also got to know Lee personally here in Naples after Ray had passed away. They knew their Steuben as well as they knew their Tiffany and English Cameo, which were their specialties. The fact of the matter is that, with few exceptions, the prices for Steuben were significantly lower than most of their other inventory, and they were more interested in the expensive items. How many dealers do you know who have ever had any Diatreta, yet they handled several major pieces. They sold to the Reifschlagers (who left their collection to the Rockwell Museum and the Hoovers; and built the Runyon collection which was left to Texas A & M.

Ray was not an easy man to deal with but as dealers the Grovers had the best of the best.
