The Brilliant Glass in Corning glass show was held this past weekend in Corning, New York. It is a small, high quality show presented by the Twin Tiers Glass Collectors group and hosted by the Corning Museum of Glass. While cut glass is the focus of the show, many of the dealers have expanded their inventory to include other types.
A large selection of Carder Steuben was offered at the show. The event fills the Corning Museum Auditorium with plenty of space for large booths and walking around and, with the excellent lighting, the room glows.
There was a bit of an “old home week” vibe as many dealers and attendees were obviously enjoying seeing each other again.
Spring arrived in Corning over the weekend (finally) and so the outdoor activity level increased with Market Street shopping and Museum visitation. Tourist season hadn’t yet started so nothing was overwhelmed with visitors.
The show is an annual event so keep an eye out for next spring’s dates. Carder Steuben Club members get in free because their membership includes membership in the Corning Museum of Glass. Scott Hansen
