S Donald Stookey (age 99), who was a glass chemist for Corning, Inc. passed away 11/4/2014. Among other things, he invented the material that became CorningWare. His obituary can be found at this link

Loetz

Much Loetz has been done in states by Alvin and Gorham with silver overlay and it’s often unrepairable other than to hand fashion a missing piece and cement. Quezal has also been commonly done with silver deposit…. much care is required in trying to use silver polish to clean.
