FROM S&W TO STEUBEN

We were thrilled to read about the coming presentation on Frederick Carder’s years at Stevens & Williams. He produced some astonishing and gorgeous work during those years and not as much is known as it should be. The British glass scholars tend to ignore him or minimize him in their works and our American glass scholars emphasize, rightly, the Steuben/Corning years. We are doubly excited now about the Symposium!

WEBMASTER’S CORNER

This is an example of a rather common shape goblet in a rare color. This is shape 2361 in Blue Aurene. The common color for this shape was Gold Aurene but this is an example in blue. Mr. Rockwell thought that there had been only one stemware set of 12 made in Blue Aurene.
