Aurene Heavy
Alan,
Thanks for the “Shout Out” in regard to the upcoming symposium. I look forward to showing my rather Aurene “heavy” collection. Hopefully, I’ll bring pieces that people haven’t had an opportunity to closely scrutinize. I strongly think that the “feel” and weight of Carder’s glass is an integral part of appreciating Carder’s art. I hope to bring 40+ pieces for symposium participants to handle and ponder.

Why Attend?
How do you tell the difference between a piece of Carder Steuben and Pairpoint? Lots of collectors, even experts, sometimes have trouble. This year, Marion and Sandra Frost will provide an interactive presentation on the identification characteristics of Pairpoint glass at the Carder Steuben Symposium. The Frosts have been collecting Pairpoint for nearly 25 years. They are the authors of the two preeminent books on Pairpoint glass. They have also brought the study of Pairpoint glass into the digital age with the 2013 launch of their website, the “Pairpoint Glass Knowledge Center.” Carder Steuben Club members who want to know what they are buying cannot afford to miss this lecture!
The Carder Steuben Symposium will be held September 19 – 20 in Corning, NY. Program and registration details can be found at www.cardersteubenclub.org.
Alabaster
I still have not had the chance to share with Gazette Readers the difference of Henna Alabaster and Alabaster in the same photo. This is a great picture.
