Lineal Patterns

from Art Glass Nouveau by Ray and Lee Grover

p. 141

Cintra glass is similar to Cluthra, with the exception that the “fired egg” effect, or bubbles, is absent. As may be noticed in the candlestick shown in Plate 279, lineal patterns are common. Cintra glass, although not in pattern decoration, may occasionally be found in acid cutback work, which lends considerable richness to what otherwise might be a somewhat flat feeling. Here again we find the mixing of glass types, i.e. Cintra and Acid Cutback.
