I feel it is unwise to assume such generalities regarding countries of origin and/or manufacturers. Structural differences are more driven by manufacturer than country. Also Stevens & Williams, although certainly one of the best, is not the only maker of quality English glass. Think the size of a ground pontil mark. It can HELP in identification, because different makers ground different size pontils, but it is only an aid because no rule holds up 100% of the time.
