Stevens & Williams?

I would suggest the piece attributed to Fredrick Carder is actually French. Rousseau / Leveille. Circa 1880 – 1890

Hi folks,

The handled jug appears to me to be a Stevens & Williams piece that was either never completed due to the severe cracks at the base area, or was just a test blank, ie design. Of course the damaged at the base may have occurred after manufacture by force applied at the base or even during the grinding of the base area. The S & W pieces pictured in Grover’s EUROPEAN ART GLASS are significantly more refined with lovely cut motifs. These pieces are very interesting as the speak more of Art Deco than of “Victorian styled” glass.

Follow Up On Waiving Membership Dues

Hi there and thank you!

I have recently begun to think that it might be better for our Westchester Glass Club to ask for voluntary donations in lieu of a membership fee; some people are able to give nothing, and others much more. That makes a lot of sense to me.

I am James Russell, president of the Westchester Glass Club.
