With so much holiday activity and celebration, reading the Gazette may take on a lower priority. So…the Gazette wishes you a happy holiday and will resume at the beginning of 2015.

The Greens

Hi Alan

Ok I will help again with the Greens. Here are 11 of them. Nine are confirmed, one is unknown, one is possible Green # 5.The color Green # 5 should be a bright emerald green with a touch of unripened lime. I have owned all of these colors. At this point some are unaware that Nile Green has been confirmed. The line drawings on the 6765 Torino pattern goblet pictured show by factory records that it is Nile Green. The Thistle Pattern green cut to clear pieces are also Nile Green. At the end of the day when we have a book on the subject please do not forget it was I that brought the information to all of you first on these discovery’s. They are shown in order from what I consider to be dark to light. Numbers 6, 9, 10 have uranium glow under black light and number 11 has a soft glow from manganese. Do not leave Window Glass Green in direct sunlight or it will turn light purple on you just like some old windows did.

Carder was asked how many colors of green he made and he answered back promptly with a big smile “One, I made one color of green”.
