SERENDIPITY

From David Goldstein of Naples, Florida

Alan,

Its serendipitous but Elissa and I were in Vero Beach last Friday to see an exhibit of Frabel’s glass set among the plants in the McKee Botanical Garden. We also stopped at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, which had a major Littleton glass piece on exhibit. There was also another piece of art that had been donated to the VBMA by Harvey Littleton.

We spoke to a very knowledgeable docent who told us about the Littleton family’s long-term connection to Fort Pierce (which is about ten miles from Vero Beach) as well as their long-time interest in and support of the VBMA.

David Donaldson, who will be speaking at this year’s symposium, was a student of Harvey Littleton’s at Wisconsin and has remained in contact with him ever since.
