Betty Santandrea of Corning, New York adds this background on where Steuben is now made.

I don’t think any Steuben Glass is made in Corning any more. The factory and its parking lot are empty every day. I live nearby the museum and am there frequently. The folks who sell Steuben in the CMOG glass market really don’t have any information about who is making Steuben pieces now, and where they are making them, even when you ask the employees questions. They think Schottenstein Inc. is making pieces from authentic blocks of Steuben glass, previously molded in Corning, that must be molded into shapes like hand coolers or heated and blown in a different location in the US or Europe. Wish Schottentein would be more forthright about how Steuben pieces are made in 2011.
