What You Missed
The Carder Steuben Symposium came as fast as it went. If you attended the Symposium, you would have discovered:
*The differences in “old” modern Steuben designs and the “new” modern Steuben currently being marketed
*The types of glass made by Union Glass Company and whether any look like Carder Steuben
*What influences Arthur Houghton and Thomas Buechner had on Steuben Glass
*A fabulous Lalique exhibit at CMOG and all the types of glass that Lalique made
*Beautiful line drawings of glass objects at the Rakow Library from Stevens & Williams, Tiffany, Maurice Marinot, Auguste Herbst, Emile Gallé, Val St. Lambert, René Lalique and of course, Frederick Carder
*The chemical formulas and names for Carder’s red glass
*Stunning and beautiful examples of Carder Steuben glass pieces that live in the homes of our Club members
*How to tell the difference between Pairpoint and Carder Steuben
*Whether there is a difference between “silver overlay” and “silver deposit”
*How many Steuben pieces have been given as presidential gifts
*Who is Bolislav Manikowski?
If you did not attend, you not only missed an opportunity to learn all of this information, but opportunities to buy and sell Carder Steuben and other glass, meet experts in various glass fields, talk with members of the Club who have the same passion for glass that you do, and make new friends.
Plan to attend the Carder Steuben Symposium next year, September 17-20, 2015.

Surveys
I hope that everyone had a great time at the Symposium this past weekend, and arrived home safely.
Please don’t throw away that Symposium folder just yet!
Take a few minutes to complete the evaluation form first. The Board works hard to put together a Symposium that is interesting and informative. We can’t do that without comments and ideas from our attendees. Feedback is important in order to make improvements.
So please, complete that evaluation form and send it in.
If you have lost your form, please contact bsalzman@msn.com and one will be sent to you electronically.
Many thanks,
