I thought I would ask some questions about the experimental Intarsia Carder was working with around 1916-1917. As I understand it the method was more of a Cintra method. I guess it started with a gather of glass either clear or transparent colored crystal. Then some sort of design was laid on the marver and the gather was rolled across it picking up the design. Then one more layer of glass was added and blown into the desired shape. I have the feeling the designs would have been quite simple to start with such as stripes. dots, or zig zags. One of the main characteristics that would be necessary would be that the finished product would be 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch thick. Does anyone have any ideas on this or any examples. I am expecting to see some sort of a controlled Cintra design cased on both sides with clear or transparent colored crystal in a delicate form. I had mentioned I have seen 3 examples of something similar and owned one signed F Carder on the bottom which is in Seattle now. I should have pictures and sent one picture to the Club site. I will look for the pictures. Can anyone add anything to this or have any examples?
Thanks
