Carol Ketchum of Genoa, New York posts us on what you can do at The Rakow Library and Tom Dimitroff’s doings.
Hi Alan!
Marshall and I spent a couple of hours at The Rakow yesterday afternoon. I went through “Box 3” and found some interesting tidbits re: Mr. Carder. He jotted notes, really rough sketches, and “To Do Lists” all on the same piece of paper just like the rest of us.
I found 3 pages of pictures of glass I didn’t recognize which will make it into the web site after Marshall does his thing with them, including some lamp shades.
Now, I’ll have to see if I can entice him to try indexing the 1940 census data with me. “Not a chance.”
Last evening Tom Dimitroff did a wonderful presentation, on the history of hotels in Corning, for the renovation of The Carder Room at The Radisson. Tom claims he is not a designer nor a photographer. The results of his efforts refute the claim. (Ask him how The Dickinson House got its name.) He’s a treasure! Carol Ketchum
