Question of the Day

Alan –

I read the Gazette daily and always with interest. Sadly, many of us are too far away to attend meetings and informational lectures. Will there ever be a time that these valuable offerings are videoed, live streamed via the internet or even posted to YouTube?

Question from the Forsyth Galleries

All this talk of Yellow Citron and Topaz reminded me of an unidentified piece that we have in the Forsyth Galleries collection. Does it look familiar to anyone? Our old notes say that it may be Steuben Yellow Citron (now Topaz) or it may be Stevens & Williams Yellow Jade. I don’t believe that it is Yellow Jade, but it doesn’t look like any Steuben shape that I can find, and I’ve never seen the alabaster/topaz combo before in a Steuben piece. There are no markings anywhere on the vessel. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Amanda Dyer
