I last purchased a can of lye at at our local supermarket – Meijers – but that won’t help you in LA . Try Ace or True Value Hardware stores.

Now to the question of the day from Brooklyn’s Tommy Dreiling

I followed the sales at James D Julia the last couple of days and one lot didn’t seem right to me. Lot 1400 was a Decorated Vase with Gold Aurene drag loops signed shape 519. It had an estimate of $1,000.00 to $1,500.00 which to me, seemed way too little. It sold for $1,200.00 I would consider this vase a top of the line Decorated Aurene and was thinking it would be more in the $6,000.00 to $8,000.00 range. What do the other members of the club think?
