CARDER STEUBEN CLUB 2009 SYMPOSIUM
“ FREDERICK CARDER: INFLUENCE AND INSPIRATION”
CORNING , NEW YORK – The Carder Steuben Club, with co-host, The Corning Museum of Glass will present its annual art glass Symposium on October 1—3, 2009 at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning , New York . This year’s program will focus on Frederick Carder, co-founder of Steuben Glass Works in Corning , New York contrasted with his contemporaries. David Donaldson of David Donaldson Antiques of Orlando, Florida will present on The Facets of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Gay LeCleire Taylor, former Curator of the Museum of American Glass will speak on Durand Art Glass. The Quezal Art Glass program will be delivered by Malcolm MacNeil of Doyle New York . Frederick Carder’s opinions on his contemporaries will be shared by the staff of the Rakow Library of the Corning Museum .
In addition, collectors will have an opportunity to share the one piece of art glass they would keep if they could keep only one. Several art glass collections will be shared, and dining pleasures and toasts will abound.
