OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

The Club’s new website at www.cardersteubenclub.org has been up and running smoothly for two months. We have received many compliments and no complaints. Usage of the new site is higher than usage of the old site was, but not all of our users have switched to the new site. We will continue running both sites until May 31, 2011, at which time we will bring down the old site.

Although the home page of the old site has information directing users to the new site, many users apparently have bookmarks that take them directly to the Shape Index on the old site. As a result, they have either not been seeing or have been ignoring the information about the new site. Information about the new site has now been added to the opening page of the Shape Index on the old site.

We already have over 3,500 Steuben items pictured on the new site and the last of the pictures from the old site should be added shortly. You can help make the new site better and more complete by sending pictures that you’ve taken of your own pieces to Marshall Ketchum, the Webmaster at info@cardesteubenclub.org.

If you have a piece that is not already pictured or you have a better picture of one that is pictured, you can do your part to improve the Shape Gallery.
