Terry Frech has a question about modern Steuben that perhaps someone can help him out with.
Hello Alan
Perhaps your members may also have input. Here is my question-
I just purchased two different Steuben Christmas ornaments from two different sellers on eBay as I am trying to collect any missing ornaments that I can. The purchases were on eBay. The first ornament arrived and had a hole in the base of the hanger. I emailed Steuben and got a very quick reply that there should be no holes in the base of the hanger. I then purchased two more from another seller, one of which arrived in an unopened box (as noted on eBay) so it was brand new and again there was a hole in the base. The other ornament was fine.
Have you had any experience with this? I would like to keep the ornaments but don’t want to keep something that has a defect. These are not pinholes. They are between 1/16-1/8 of an inch in diameter. My feeling is that it will get dirty and cloud up inside and I won’t be able to clean it.
Any info would be great.
Thanks!!
Terry Frech
