I have three 10 inch plates, #2028. The selenium one of that size, exactly nests with the orange cintra plate shown here, and with the Burmese plate that I purchased, in the hope it was Steuben. As I have observed, accompanying the picture of the Burmese plate, Webmaster Marshall Ketchum found no Carder records that Burmese was ever made in the 2028 plates. This should not foreclose the possibility, however, that the same re-heating that caused Burmese to be of two colors, for Mt. Washington or others, couldn’t also have been used by Carder to make amberina or other shaded glass.

The orange cintra plate raises new questions that I had not considered until recently. I compared it with the various reds, but none seemed to be the same hue. That then got me to thinking, from what orange objects did Carder retrieve that color of orange powder to make his orange cintra objects? I do not know of any blown or molded orange objects – any thoughts?

Also, here are two Pomona greens of very different hue – the fan vase and the covered compote. Both reactive, and yet the leaves on the wine glass, of a more apple green, are not reactive.
