First, Tom Dreiling’s comments on the unique way of presentation of the Early catalogue.
Early’s new site is great. And this looks like a great auction, lots of high end Tiffany and some great Steuben. I really like the Rose Quartz and Blue Cintra acid cut back and the Decorated Green Aurene.
John Kohut passes along an ad in the NY Times with a new piece of Steuben Glass, engraved by MaxErlacher.
Here’s the page from Sunday, October 7 New York Times Style Magazine that features the new vase engraved by Max. This has to be the one that Marie mentioned during her remarks at the Carder Steuben Symposium recently? If you can’t read the fine print, it says:
“Tattoo Vase, designed by Kiki Smith and engraved in collaboration with the master engraver Max Erlacher for Steuben, from an edition of five, $50,000. To order at Steuben Glass, 667 Madison Avenue.” Whew!
