Greetings!
New Bedford was known as the “City of Light” for the lamp oil generated by its extensive whaling industry. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the city added a second claim to the title through its production of beautiful glass lighting, including the renowned Pairpoint “puffy” and reverse-painted table lamps. Today this glass, together with art glass made locally by the Mt. Washington Glass Company, is celebrated around the world.
Please join us to hear recognized authorities discuss the remarkable legacy of New Bedford glass, review its finest examples, learn the latest in market values, and enjoy a splendid weekend of presentations, fine food, and activities.
