Jeremy Hayes Asked For Help In Identifying This Piece Of Glass
Harry Morgan Responded
Regarding Jeremy’s nappie, I cannot tell the quality of the glass well enough to pick a company but in my opinion it is English, especially with the gilded edge. Also it “appears” to be copper wheel engraved not etched.
Best,
Harry Morgan
Jeremy Hayes Confirms
Alan, Thanks for the responses to the nappie question. Mr. Morgan is correct. It is wheel engraved. The slight yellow tinge in the glass is only a reflection of the gilt areas. The clear is very clear, no bubbles or debris and no ring probably due to shape and handle. Regards, Jeremy
Jan Baer Asked About Mike Moline’s St. Patrick Day’s Picture
Bottom picture, far right. I’d seen the same blank used by Hawkes. That makes sense, as they were the same parent company. Jan Baer
Looks like Shape #938 Vase in Pomona Green. On the club’s website, click here, it looks like there are 67 different #938s pictured. This shape was used so often, it could have been engraved for that matter by Hawkes.
