I first became aware of colored Steuben in 1973 when I attended an auction in Weedsport NY. I was collecting cut glass at that time. The auctioneer held up a dark red bowl and candlesticks and read a letter of authentication from some guy by the name of Bob Rockwell. I became interested since colored glass was a lot more interesting than colorless glass. I soon found and bought a copy of Gardner’s book and shortly thereafter found a 3325 champagne in a small antique store. That was the beginning of what has turned out to be 40 years of collecting.
