Hi Alan,
In 1972, I bought a 938 Gold Aurene Lamp Shade Vase from Dick Bright’s antique shop in Seattle. I still have it today.

I grew up in Hornell NY and was in awe every time we went to Steuben and the museum. Our first piece of Steuben was a hand cooler Ram. My wife and I could not afford it but we used coupons at the market and saved all of our rebates and money back until we had enough money in our special bank account for our first piece. When we discovered the beauty of Carders work, I had to have a piece. As we could afford it we purchased our first piece which was a Grotesque Bowl in green. It was Katy (my wife’s name is Katy) bar the door after that. We recently retired and the last Carder symposium was our first. We learned so much that we will certainly attend future events.
