Everyone has been asking for a picture of the Carder Steuben flatware that David Goldstein asked about. Well, here it is.
Attached are pictures showing one place setting of my Shape 7478 Flatware and the “H” mark on the metal.
The Rainwater book show a similar mark for Hirsch and Company, but I am not sure if this is the maker of the metal actually used by Steuben.
Several other examples of Shape 7478 Flatware are pictured on the Club’s web site, www.cardersteuebenclub.org, together with the line drawings for some of the pieces. There were pieces made with straight and curved glass handles in several sizes, with corresponding metalwork.
