Carder Inspiration
Hi All,
Take a look here:
See the Cire Perdue lost wax process I used to make “By the Dawn’s Early Light” Cast glass and oil painting on wood and canvas panel 24x 24 2014.
I created the Cire Perdue casting in the same way as Carder, one exception I use a rubber mold instead of a glycerin and glue mold .
The piece is a tribute to fallen soldiers from Corning N.Y. in recent middle eastern conflicts. The names of the soldiers are impressed within the cast glass flag. It was made after seeing Carder’s moving war memorial as a contemporary counterpart. I captured the sacred ceremony of bringing soldiers home which goes unnoticed in the dawns early light.
Best,
