It’s amazing what can be found on many museum websites. More and more, Museum’s entire collections are being digitized and available to be searched. Have you ever wondered whether this or that museum has some of Mr. Carder’s works in their collection? Then if so, whether they’re on display or not. It might be quite interesting to see if we can build a data base of Mr. Carder’s Steuben that is in various museums; then, it would be nifty if a collection of these resources were posted in the Club’s web site. (Hint-Marshall Ketchum, our webmaster).
Of course, we know there are considerable Carder Steuben resources at museums with substantial Steuben collections, such as CMoG or Wichita Museum. To get this started take a look at The New Bedford Museum of Glass website – www.nbmog.org. Be sure to take the Virtual Tour. If you click the correct arrows you get to the case (donated by the Club) which is full of Carder Steuben. If you know or have discovered other sources, please send those in and let’s share.
